Who can use our secure patient transport service?
Health Connections provides a national 24/7, 365 days a year, secure patient transport service. We work with people who have a range of mental health disorders and who need safe transportation, often urgently. Therefore we make the process of organising secure transportation as simple and stress-free as possible.
With over 25 years’ experience, we deliver a reliable and professional service. We ensure that we are always compassionate towards people who may be suffering a mental health crisis and who may, therefore, present certain risks. However, we are experienced in managing risky behaviour safely and with dignity and respect.
Clinically Led
Our secure patient transport service embeds clinical practice as its number one priority and core focus. To ensure we are clinically focused, we invest in the people that work for Health Connections Patient Transport Service by providing in-depth training for all our staff.
How can we help?
As part of our service, we transport both people subject to the Mental Health Act, and Informal status patients to, from and between care facilities. We also assist in managing and monitoring individuals in police custody, 136 suites and other defined ‘places of safety’. Therefore by providing this service for Mental Health needs, we ease the pressure on emergency ambulances.
We provide our services on an individual examination of risk factors and safety planning for every single trip. This means we can provide several tiers of vehicle security to cater for every eventuality and individual need.
Our secure patient transport service is specifically designed and developed to cater for the needs of individuals with acute mental health illness and who require conveyance for the purposes of treatment in the absence of a medical need for an emergency ambulance. However, we also understand how important it is to make sure your patient is being transported by caring, compassionate experts.
